*** LOOKING TO THE FUTURE ***
ABCOSH churches and delegates enjoyed a wonderful fellowship and time of inspiration at their Annual Meeting events May 2-3, 2008, combined with the American Baptist Churches of Los Angeles and hosted by the First Baptist Church of Pasadena (pastor, Steve Hasper). The theme was Deep Roots - Fresh Fruit : Are you pushed by the past or pulled by the future? Highlights included . . .The commissioning of Chuck and Ramona Shawver for ministry in Mexico (see our Missions page) The decision to incorporate ABCOSH in a new (though continuing) organizational relationship with ABC/LA. Read more. The introduction of Burmese pastors Tha Hgay and Saw Tha Hser from Phoenix, where ABCOSH is helping to plant a new ministry to more than 700 refugees from Myanmar. This is part of a developing outreach being called Reseeding the deserts and the islands. Read more about American Baptists and refugees from Burma. The announcement of plans in Hawaii to plant churches for native Hawaians. ABCLA/ABCOSH will host the national Biennial Convention of American Baptist Churches in 2009 in Pasadena.
